Answer by Ayoosh Kathuria:

UPDATE: To realize this man will no longer bat for India again…

Sachin was one of those symbols which stood for my childhood. I guess, with him ending his career, my childhood has come to an end too, officially. It was never so hard to say Goodbye..Thank You Sachin for all those wonderful memories that you have given us..Farewell God, Farewell Childhood..

AND

To realize that this is being taught to our children

from a CBSE Class V book.

5. Read the passage carefully and answer the questions that follow:

RAHUL GANDHI

Part of the fifth generation of India's most reverend, influential and charismatic political family, Rahul Gandhi is also, like sister Priyanka, natural at public life.

The low-profile Rahul surprised the nation with his energy, humility and charisma when he plunged into electoral politics, winning from Amethi on a Congress ticket. Sceptics wondered whether this young man who'd spent most of his life in the US and Britain, would be able to adjust to the rough-and-tumble of Indian political life. But not only did the young Rahul take to politics like the proverbial duck to water, he also exhibited impressive confidence and maturity. Today, he is very much part of the Congress party's new crop of bright young politicians.

Q5.1 Answer the following questions:
(a) To whom has Rahul been compared with?
(b) How did he surprise the nation?
(c) What kind of a person is Rahul?
(d) What did the skeptics wonder?

and He also has written answers …

Q5.1 Answer the following questions:
(a) To whom has Rahul been compared with?
Rahul Gandhi has been compared with his sister Priyanka, who is also a part of the fifth generation of India's most reverend (?!), influential and charismatic political family. It is claimed that Priyanka is a natural at public life and that Rahul Gandhi follows suit.

(b) How did he surprise the nation?
Apparently, Rahul was very low profile before he plunged into electoral politics. Then one day, he asked his mother with a lot of energy, humility and charisma for permission to contest in Amethi, which is a sure-shot win for congress (It's another matter how well the city's potholes have been taken care of) and to everyone's surprise (wink wink!) he won it! Let's celebrate!

(c) What kind of a person is Rahul?
Someone who stands tall on nepotism and dynastic politics and claims to be honest. (Dichotomy, anyone?)

Well coming back to the answer (I need full marks), Rahul was brought up in the US and Britain (where he dropped in and dropped out of universities). To be in Indian politics one has to be rough. Rahul was rough. And he jumped into the pond of politics and became a duck. (Not a sitting one, yet). He has also exhibited impressive confidence and maturity as in the video below.

(d) What did the skeptics wonder?
Skeptics wondered many things. They still wonder. No one listens to them. Sad story. The end.

(Fine, I don't want full marks!)

What are some of the best examples of “beauty with brains”?

Answer by C. M. Latsha:

My vote is for Danica McKellar.  Best known as Winnie Cooper in the The Wonder Years, she went to UCLA, and graduated summa cum laude in mathematics.  That's mind-blowing.  Sure, she was a cute teenager, but what's she like as an adult?

Yeah, she's still at least a 9.

She's got an Erdos number of 4, which is like a Bacon number for Paul Erdos, a famous mathematician.  Since she has a Bacon number of 2 (via Christopher Guest), she's apparently one of the very few human beings to have an Erdos-Bacon number, with a mind-blowingly low number of 6.
